RyanAir Flight Cancellations
Following the flight announcement by RyanAir that they will be cancelling 40-50 flights every day for the next six weeks, we at tifgroup would like to clarify what cover is available to our policyholders.
Cancellation
Your policy has specific eventualities that it will consider a claim for cancellation. Unfortunately submitting a claim due to the above circumstances would not fall within the terms and conditions of the policy, and we would recommend you speak directly to your airline.
Trip abandonment
If you have begun your trip and, following this announcement, have been delayed for more than 24 hours, your trip is for more than 2 days and not a one-way trip and provided you are also unable to obtain a refund from any other source you can submit a claim for trip abandonment.
Departure delay
You can claim for departure delay providing the duration is over 12 hours and the delay is not due to the diversion of the aircraft after it has departed.
Insurance Shifting
If you are offered alternative destination and / or trip dates from your travel agent, we are pleased to advise that we will shift your insurance policy to fit the new trip without any administration charges.
For both trip abandonment and departure delay you must not have been offered any compensation, or alternative transport that departs within 12-24 hours. To find out more please contact your claims team.
In the event that you have specific questions not answered by this directive, please feel free to contact us on directivesqueries@tif-plc.co.uk and we will endeavour to offer an answer.
